WIlliam Von John:

Hello Crypto Party Community! We are extremely excited to have you all here for today’s AMA!

WIlliam Von John:

We will start shortly, first the AMA, then community questions sent in via the form, and finally we have asked our guest to hang around in the chat to answer any other questions you guys might have.

WIlliam Von John:

Now, allow me to present our guest today, the CEO of Artsmiley.com, Lurdh Allam!

WIlliam Von John:

Hi, Lurdh! Thank you so much for making time for the AMA today. Looking forward to you answering all our questions and informing us about the project, so we can make an informed decision when taking part in your upcoming IDO on the Finminity platform.

Lurdh Allam:

Thank you, William for the warm introduction. It is really my pleasure to be here, and I am very keen to answer all the questions and I am sure you all like ArtSmiley, this session will help your community to make their decision to participate in an ongoing IDO process with Finminity.

WIlliam Von John:

First, tell us a bit about how you ended up on the Finminity platform, out of all the launchpads out there. What makes you feel that this is the right place for you?

Lurdh Allam:

Onboarding with Finminity was a mere coincident.  I was part of an investment group, where I first interacted with Ron, the CEO of Finminity almost two years back, where he first learned about our project.

Recently I am in search of funding, somehow Ron come to know about it and during a call he learned that we are entering into NFTs, then he introduced me to Finminity and asked whether I will be interested to launch ArtSmiley NFT in their platform.  Immediately I accepted his offer, knowing Ron’s capabilities and his experience as a founder and Block Chain expert.

WIlliam Von John:

That’s great. I gotta say, I like the name ArtSmiley. How did you come up with that?

Lurdh Allam:

Before I talk about the name, let me explain me the story of a friend and artist Santosh, who is the inspiration and motivation to start ArtSmiley.

Lurdh Allam:

Santosh, who is a personal friend and an exceptional realistic artist, been practicing art for the number of years but he decided to quit art as a profession and joined a manufacturing firm as a fabricator.  When enquired with him about his decision, he explains to me that he works all around the year but not able to make $5000 for his living with art, and this let his family down and not able to fulfil their basic needs.

As I analyze the issue further, found out that Mr. Santosh is not accessible to traditional galleries and don’t know, how to market his product, showcase his works to match with potential buyers.  On the other hand, being an art lover and art collector, I know how difficult it is to find affordable unique pieces of artwork.

Lurdh Allam:

As an art enthusiast, keeping in view of this incident, I thought of doing something for the art community to support artists like Santosh, from these thoughts only ArtSmiley was born.

We chose the brand name “ArtSmiley”, in a view that our brand can add smiles to lives of struggling artists and bring joy to the investors. Art is part of what we do, combined the words Art & Smiley to create ArtSmiley brand.

WIlliam Von John:

Wow, that’s a very inspiring story. Art is everything, and it’s important to get it out to the masses, one way or another. When did you become aware of NFTs and decide to enter the crypto space?

Lurdh Allam:

You absolutely right, art need to reaches every home and office.  ArtSmiley vision is to make art more accessible and affordable to all communities and provide a viable career to artists.

Lurdh Allam:

As the CEO of ArtSmiley, I always want to adopt innovative technologies that can help improve customer satisfaction and make us able to reach larger audience of customers, buyers, collectors & investors.  I was exploring the idea of adopting block chain for fractional ownership of art and authentication of artworks, during this time I heard of NFTs, Beeple success etc., Considering the need of the hour, I have decided to work on adding NFTs to our existing portfolios.

WIlliam Von John:

In other words, always expanding the knowledge of the art world. Great!

Lurdh Allam:

Yes definitely, idea behind adopting technology is to reach and support many unknow and unseen artists and connect them to potential buyers and investors.

WIlliam Von John:

What makes your solution unique and what is the core competitiveness of the project?

Lurdh Allam:

We have number of competitive advantages right from our experience in the art industry to technology. Also we are the first player from the middle east region introducing NFTs into art.

However the key competitive advantage is the introduction of Phygital works (Physical & Digital in NFTs) this is something unique that no other NFT marketplace or project offering and we see this as a big breakthrough, which can elevate ArtSmileynft a potential player in the global market.

WIlliam Von John:

Interesting, I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say we want to know more about the NFT marketplace. Can you tell us a bit about that?

Lurdh Allam:

👉ArtSmiley marketplace already having 1500+ registered artists from over 50 countries, we would like to leverage this experience by showcasing their artworks under NFT based ownership.

👉Our platform accepts both traditional artists and digital artists and offering nft based ownership to both these art forms using Binance Smart Chain (BSC).

👉If you’re a digital artist, you can use our platform to directly create your NFT and trade.

👉For physical art, the process is a bit different as we need to validate a few facts like authenticity, ownership, etc. All of these processes are designed to be fully automated and frictionless.

WIlliam Von John:

Excellent! Also, you will have a so called NFT Vault, what can you tell us about that?

Lurdh Allam:

This is designed for NFT owners.  The Vault function will provide securely holding capacity of rare and valuable NFTs of digital art and other highly coveted digital collectibles. It’s the way we have Hardware wallet where we keep our token safe, similarly we use Vault for people to safely store their high value NFTs.

WIlliam Von John:

I see. Yes, safety is particularly important. Especially in the crypto space.

So, I am sure everyone is glad to hear that.

WIlliam Von John:

By the way, do you have a favourite artist?

Lurdh Allam:

I personally like many artists, each one has their unique styles and story behind… i love MF Husseins, Raja Ravi Verma & Picasso ..

WIlliam Von John:

Picasso of course. One of the greatest… Okay, that was all my questions. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to expand our knowledge about Artsmiley. Now we will move on to the community questions that was sent in via the form. If a question is not being asked here, that means it was already answered earlier.

Lets move on, hope everyone get to know more about ArtSmiley.

WIlliam Von John:

Okay, great! First question comes from @Stephenkies: Partnerships are an important factor for projects, who are the partners of ArtSmiley and what makes Art Smiley unique from other art markets?

Lurdh Allam:

I strongly agree that collaboration & partnerships play a major role in the growth of the organization and help support the community to get the best rewards.

In the traditional world, ArtSmiley has partnerships with hotels, property developers, corporates, and contractors for supplying the paintings.

We are also working in this new space collaborating with partners, who can bring value to ArtSmiley, its community of artists, collectors & investors.

Yesterday, we have signed strategic partnership agreement with NFFT.com,  NFFT is the next evolution of NFTs ▪️ 9112 collectible and fillable Blocks with proof of ownership stored on the Ethereum blockchain.

We are also working with many others, soon we announce more partnerships, here i have listed few we are in discussion with:

https://nftx.org/

https://whale.me

WIlliam Von John:

Excellent.

And second question is from @JoanaZ:  Can you explain us how is the interaction between the art assets and its NFT representation? If I buy the NFT, Can I get the real art work?

Lurdh Allam:

Good question @JoanaZ This is where ArtSmileynft is unique, bringing physical assets into NFT ownership by digitizing them.  Traditional artworks will be digitized with a special process, and they will be uniquely tokenized.  If a buyer buys an NFT, they will have chance to get real work as well.  In case the investor doesn’t want to hold original, ArtSmiley can take care of the custody of the physical work.  Hope this answers your question.

William Von John:

Wow, that is very cool!

Okay. Next question is from @pokerlight:  Your ecosystem works mainly with FIAT currencies and NFTs, but apart from that you have your own native token $Smiley, so can you please tell us how this token fits in your ecosystem? What is its usage?

Lurdh Allam:

$Smiley token plays a greater role in our marketplace.  It is an underlying currency to trade art in our marketplace.  $smiley token used cases explained below:

👉Smiley Tokens Used for NFTization

👉Smileys are essentially underlying currency (or medium) to trade art.

👉Smileys are used in every transaction and are necessary to buy NFTs available on the platform

👉As an ArtSmiley token holder, you will get a preferential price for all artwork (NFT or non-NFT) listed in the marketplace.

👉Being a smiley token holder, you will save up to 10% off on all ArtSmiley platforms and get a VIP access to online art exhibitions.

👉Smiley for Yields from the secondary marketplace

👉Art Rentals, Sales Rewards are distributed back to the NFT holders as Smiley Tokens

👉Any NFTs used for Ads & Exhibitions also paid through Smiley

William Von John:

Alright. Here we go! @Tony253210 wants to know: Art smiley offers a very interesting gallery that so many types of art, like pictures, photos, etc. But I realized that you only support the frame of the art on the Emirates territory, so Art smiley has considered open more its frontier and allow the frame service to more countries?

Lurdh Allam:

Hi Tony, you are right, ArtSmiley offers all kinds of contemporary art and sculptures from around the world.  Our community have more than 1500 artists from over 50 countries.

However, we are offering framing & installation services only in Emirate.  Reason for this is the shipping cost associated with framed artworks.  We can offer framed services for master pieces as the value of the works are high, in these cases shipping and insurance cost is nothing in front of the value of the work.

As we grow, we have plans to have partnerships with local framing companies around the world using our artist network, so that we can ship the artwork rolled but framed locally and delivered to client.

William Von John:

That’s great. So, in the future everyone can get these magnificent pieces with the appropriate frames!

Okay, next up is @Manugotsuka: As I am a not an art expert but I realized that you allow users to “rent” the art, so can you explain us, why a user need to rent a painting instead just buy it directly? Also how do you prevent that user will not steal the art content?

Lurdh Allam:

@Manugotsuka great question, no one asked about “Rentals” until now even after 5 AMAs, let me explain you about the product.

Lurdh Allam:

I have introduced rental of art works for the first time in United Arab Emirates, infact to say in Asia.  There are only two other known players in the world who rent artworks.

I introduced this product in line with the vision to make art viable career to artists and also to address the problem of many hospitality industries, who don’t have option to showcase variety of original artworks on a regular basis, as this can provide a great ambience to their clients.

Artists who produce many works but they don’t sell often, this keeps lot of stocks around their home, shelves or under their beds :). Rather these art works doing nothing, it will be a great opportunity for artists to rent their works on a small portion of value of original artwork.  On the other hand hotels, corporate offices can rent these pieces to decorate their walls and provide new ambience to the clients.

Lurdh Allam:

Reference to your question on steal the content, we have plans to use blockchain and protect the authenticity and tampering of artworks.

Lurdh Allam:

Hope this clarifies.

William Von John:

Wow, what a brilliant idea!

Lurdh Allam:

Thank you

William Von John:

@danlacey is eager to find out: What marketing plans do you have for around the time of launch to ensure it’s successful and you can protect investors from a possible price dump in tricky market conditions?

Lurdh Allam:

Unlike many other companies, we are not a crypto company who are just starting the business.  We are already an established player and leading art gallery in the Middle east with big community of artists, collectors (over 1500+ from 50 countries), and followers (over 20k+ social medial follower, 11k+ subscribers), one of the key success factors to achieve this kind of organic growth is “TRUST”, this is an important element that plays a greater role either directly or indirectly.  We always work hard to build this trust among our teams or customers or other stakeholders by understanding their needs and respond to them as quickly as possible, also incentivize them as required, with the intention to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.

Reference to dump, any IDO will have pump and dump, but here we have private investors, who are holding a great amount of coins and they are already associated with us and protecting the interest of ArtSmiley for long run.  With the current fundraising, we will be establishing the critical marketing teams to accelerate the business in both B2B & B2C segments that ensures building a robust nft marketplace alongside we make money from traditional marketplace.  This helps and protects the faith of investors as well.   investors, this can give a great boost to our B2C segment revenues as well.

William Von John:

Great. I think that calms a lot of investors to know this. All right. We have 3 more questions, all from mister @Xnfir.  (Please note even though all questions will be asked, there will only be one selected for the competition). First up is: Art Smiley has an impressive exhibition history and an amazing art collection both on the main site and on the NFT platform. I noticed that some art pieces have an unusual Rent/Month parameter, could you please explain what it is? Do you allow customers to rent pictures without buying them? How do you guarantee the pristine condition on return in this case, surely not everyone will display art in proper conditions without the direct sunlight etc.. Thank you!

Lurdh Allam:

Thank you for the positive words.  As we have been in the traditional art market since last 4+ years we have gained lot of experience and been part of many international exhibitions but also conducted several exhibitions showcasing our artists from local and international groups.

I agree there are some discrepancies in the rental pricing, this is due to some system errors after migration of servers.  We are in the process of correcting them, also soon we have plans to revamp our platforms, during this time we work with our artists for more easy and common way of displaying rental prices.

As explained earlier, yes we do allow to rent the art pieces and they are under full insurance.  At this moment in time all the installation of the works at customer premises are done by team and manually checking the pieces for any tampering, or damages etc., but all of them goes with electronic tags.  Going forward we will using blockchain enabled tags to protect of tampering or copy right issues.

William Von John:

Exciting stuff! Next up: Could you explain some of the Recent Major achievements of ArtSmiley , partnerships and long-term plans?

Lurdh Allam:

Major Achievements:

👉We are already having a good amount of traction with a big community of artists, collectors (over 1500+ artists from 50 countries) and 20k+ social media followers, 11k+ subscribers to our platform, other than this we have more than 100 clients and B2B contracts etc.,

👉Also we are the largest art community in the Middle East region with a global footprint of artists.

👉We have also secured Gulf Capital SME Awards 2020 “Digital business of the year award” winner.

👉We are the first ones launching NFT marketplace in the region too.

Lurdh Allam:

Partnerships, earlier explained in one of the question, so i will not repeat, however let me explain you our long term plans:

Our short term goals:

👉Q2 2021: Project Commencement

👉Q3 2021: Smiley Platform Launch

👉Q4 2021: DAO Governance

👉Q1 2022: Growing Smiley Ecosystem

👉Q2 2022: Smiley AR/VR Platform

Long term, In the next 5 years, my goal is to be one of the leading nft marketplaces in the world and want to number one from Asia region.  We also envision to expanding nfts from current art to music, gaming etc.,

William Von John:

Wow, that’s very ambitious!

William Von John:

And final question, I think it might have even been answered already but here we go: I think ArtSmiley is also planning to expand the ecosystem to many regions. Will Asia be the best choice? What areas will be the next choices?

Lurdh Allam:

ArtSmiley born in Asian continent and we are from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.  Definitely Asia is one of our key markets, and I see there is big untapped potential for art in this market.  But ArtSmiley want to be a leading player for both physical and digital around the world, for this we have ambitious growth plans to establish in Asia and make strong foot in Europe & North America.  This mean we will have partnerships, collaborations and acquisitions on the way to reach our goal.

William Von John:

Thank you, Lurdh, for answering our questions and sharing so much exciting information about Artsmiley!

And, of course, a huge thanks to our community for your awesome questions! Another great AMA today!

Whew! That was a long one, haha. Do you have time to hang around in the chat for a bit in case anyone has some questions to you directly?

William Von John:

Okay, excellent! Then we will open the chat shortly

Krizi:

Hello lurdh, there have been many cases in other nft markets where art lovers get scammed from fake or duplicate collections, how does ArtSmiley nft market prevent this?

Steph:

As an artist, what kind of physical art can be sold on ArtSmiley. Are there any kind of limitations?

Lurdh Allam:

[In reply to Krizi]

Hi Kirzi, this is simple, for this problem NFT is the solution and this is why it is so popular.  NFT is nothing but Non-Fungible Token (NFT), it is an unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called blockchain, that certifies a digital asset to be unique and therefore not interchangeable.  We will use NFTs to represent digital works, videos, photos, audio etc.,

Lurdh Allam:

[In reply to Steph]

Hi Stephen, ArtSmiley allows all kinds of contemporary art, this can be abstract, figurative, illustrative, nature, popart or any other mediums.  There are no limitations.

Steph:

Excellent 👌
